Wente Cup 2017, LMSRF Youth Championship
Hosted by Sheridan Shore Sailing School

Date: June 28 – June 29
Location: Sheridan Shore Sailing School and Wilmette Harbor Club

PRO’s:  Tom Griffin, Gavin Adams
Boats (BYOB): Laser Radial / Club 420 / International Optimist Dinghy (Green – very limited regatta experience) (White Fleet: 8 through 10 years)    (Blue Fleet:  11 through 12 years) (Red Fleet: 13 through 15 years)

Rules:  The Regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).

Registration and Entry:  Please have entries in by Friday, June 23 by 1:00pm.  Please register promptly!  Entries will be accepted at time of registration. Contact Zac Hernandez at (847) 251-1110 or email at zac@sheridanshoresailingschool.org. Each sailor must register by credit card online.

Fees: Entry fee is $37 per competitor for all classes. ($10.00 of the entry fee will go to LMSRF and register your sailor). Fee includes racing and awards. 

Schedule of Events:     
June 27 Call to setup boat and trailer drop off
June 28
8:30 a.m. Registration and boat set up.  
9:00 a.m. Competitor’s meeting
9:45 – 1st Start, Lunch on water if possible
No races will be started after 3:15 p.m
June 29
9:45 a.m. - 1st start. 
No races will be started after 1:30 p.m.

Racing Area: The waters of Lake Michigan directly east of the Wilmette Harbor.

Prizes:  Prizes will be awarded as follows:
420 awards will be for crew and skipper placing first, second, or third.
Optimist/Laser class awards will also be awarded in each of the Red, Blue, and White fleets according to the following schedule: 1-3 Boats in Fleet: 1 prize, 4-5 Boats in fleet: 2 prizes, 6 or more Boats in fleet: 3
prizes, Green fleet: 1 prize    

***Participation in the Wente Cup is contingent on the parent or guardian of each sailor agreeing to the terms of the waiver of liability. Completion of online registration will serve as an agreement to the terms of the waiver of liability. 

***Sheridan Shore Sailing School and Wilmette Harbor Club, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District and its officers, members, employees, and race committee assume and accept no responsibility for property damage to any boat or personal injury to any skipper, crew, coach, parent, or friends incurred while participating in this regatta, including pre-and post-race activities. It is the responsibility of the skipper and crew, along with his/her coach, advisor, and/or parent(s) to assess the condition of his/her boat, whether or not he/she owns said boat, and its suitability for the weather expected during the course of the race, and to decide whether to start or continue any race.
