Charters and Private Lessons
A BRIEF INTRODUCTION
After completing the ASA 101 and ASA 103 courses or private lessons, sailors may become qualified to charter at SSSS. Once you’ve mastered the maneuvering and safety skills to the approval of our sailing director, Phil Serwich, or Captain Brian Earl, sailors may charter our J70. So cruise around on your own and treat your family and friends to a fun sailing adventure!

Private lessons are great for any sailor who wants to improve, adult sailors, or anyone who is interested in sailing one-on-one with an accomplished instructor.
Sheridan Shore Sailing School offers flexible private lessons on our J24 for up to four people or on our 420's for up to two people at at time. Three hours is the optimum duration for a private lesson as it allows the instructor and the student time for on land explanations as well as plenty of time on the water. Our instructors will tailor the class around what the student is interested in learning.
The cost starts at $55 per person per hour and the price decreases as the number of students increases. Most people choose to do private lessons on the Sailing School's J24, 420's and Optimist or we can teach private lessons on your boat.
